August 31st, 2023 Update: Water Flowing from the 6 panels that we have connected.  Engineers are working to gathering all the data over next week.

August 3rd, 2023 Update: We will connect a total of 768 panels. Water production is 1.8 gallons per panel an hour. That is a total of 1,382 gallons per hour and 33,177 gallons per day.

Project Update – May 16, 2023:

We have a production process capable of manufacturing significant, fully functional parts!

Below is a link to a video of the production cycle on the thermoforming machine.  The parts are loaded directly from the thermoforming machine onto a table to rough trimmed by an operator and are allowed to cool under some weight to maintain their shape.  Parts are then loaded onto a fixture and are CNC trimmed, a 1/2″ plastic barb fitting is installed and parts are leak tested prior to packing.

The Process is reliable, repeatable, and automated on the forming side.  Cycle time is currently at about 6 minutes, with a target of 5 minutes or less for the pilot run.  Currently, we have a reasonable procedure to install and seal the burb fitting which will do in the short term.  However, we are still developing a production-worthy solution which will be a one-part fitting and seal to be installed with minimum labor.

Material thickness was reduced from the initial combined thickness of 0.200″ to 0.160″ in the latest run which is a 20% reduction.

Attached also is a video of a test performed to show parts are sealed and water flow from the input to the output and a couple of images.
